Icelandic Courses

The Westfjords are an especially exciting place to learn Icelandic.  This huge peninsula with its forty-nine deep fjords, remote from the rest of the country, preserves the old Iceland and the original Iceland.

This summer we offer a variety of Icelandic courses; three-week courses, one-week course, advanced course and a course in Gísla saga and classical Icelandic language taught both in English and German.

The University Centre of the Westfjords invites you to join in a friendly learning atmosphere where class work, group work, and fieldwork are combined. Our progressive teaching style follows modern trends.

We look forward to welcoming you to many inspiring Icelandic language and culture courses in the magnificent setting of the Westfjords!

Our community

"The students here are happy, very open and welcoming. They are an international and eclectic student body - with lots of variety. They invited me to join them for meals and trips. I appreciated their openness as colleagues."
