Ólöf Bergmannsdóttir

Ólöf Bergmannsdóttir is born and raised in Ísafjörður and is very knowledgeable about her hometown. As most Icelanders she has worked in different fields through the years, from janitorial services to forestry. Ólöf holds a bachelors degree in Icelandic from the University of Iceland and has many years of experience in teaching Icelandic to immigrants.

Ólafur Guðsteinn Kristjánsson

Ólafur Guðsteinn Kristjánsson received his BA from the University of Iceland in Comparative Literature in 2004. In 2005 he moved to Berlin, Germany, were he has been living for almost five years now, to study Philosophy and German Literature at the Technische University and Humboldt University. Since 2007 he has taught Icelandic at various schools in Germany; though mainly Berlin. In 2008 he started teaching Icelandic at the Volkshochschule Reinickendorf. Mr. Kristjansson has also worked as a translator and a freelance journalist for Morgunblaðið and other Icelandic newspapers and magazines, were he mainly wrote about tourist attractions and German and Icelandic literature.

Jón Bjarni Atlason

Jón Bjarni Atlason received his BA from the University of Iceland in 1995 in Icelandic and German Language and Literature. He continued his studies both at the University of Greifswald and the Univeristy of Kiel where he recieved his masters degree in 1999. Since 2003, he has been an instructor in Icelandic Language and Literature at the University of Vienna. Mr. Atlason works as a translator, as well as a tourist guide in Iceland during the summers. Originally from Reykjavik, he is returning to Iceland after many years in Germany and Austria.

Helga Hilmisdóttir

Helga Hilmisdóttir received her PhD from the University of Helsinki, Finland in 2007. While studying for her PhD she worked as an instructor in Icelandic and Swedish at the University in Helsinki, The Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration in Helsinki and the University of Iceland. Helga has also worked as a teaching adviser for The City of Reykjavík and as a translator. 2004-2008 she has been an Icelandic Instructor at the University of Manitoba, Canada. Since 2008, she has been instructor of Icelandic language and literature at the University of Helsinki, Finnland.
