Housing options

In general, the cost of housing in Ísafjörður is about half that of housing in the Reykjavík area. The University Centre of the West Fjords has already secured a variety of accommodation for students. This ranges from single rooms to larger family flats, see Accommodation.

The staff of the University Centre will take pains to help find the best options for each student, taking each family's circumstances into consideration. We encourage applicants to contact us with any questions about housing matters.

We plan to post more information very soon on the housing which the University Centre itself can offer.

Our community

"Iceland is a place where the four elements seem to be engaged in a constant battle for dominance over the lives of its inhabitants. This provides an exciting, if sometimes demanding, backdrop to the CMM programme. It's hard to imagine an environment better suited to preparing students for the challenges of a career in natural resource management."

Alan Deverell, Great Britain, CMM student 2009-2010
