New Course: Integrated Coastal Zone Management

This week a new course in the Coastal and Marine Management masters program began, Integrated Coastal Zone Management: Introduction and Theory. The course is an introduction to the concepts, principles, approaches, processes and issues of integrated coastal and ocean management through a review of ICM (Integrated Coastal Zone Management or ICZM) history and development within a global context. The course instructor is Jamie Alley who we are welcoming here for the first time. Jamie Alley is a geographer by training and a specialist in the field of natural resource and environmental management and has over 30 years experience. After previously working for the government of British Columbia, Jamie now operates a natural resource management consulting firm.
