Planning and Conflict Resolution

Two elective courses will now be offered during each three week module in the masters program in Coastal and Marine Management. Each student chooses one of the two courses offered during each three week module.

The courses that begin this week cover two important topics in coastal and marine management, on the one hand Planning of Coastal and Marine Regions and on the other Conflict Resolution in Resource Management.

We welcome Dr. Patricia Manuel, Associate Professor at Dalhousie University in Canada, who will teach the planning course. This is the first time Dr. Manuel teaches at the University Centre, but it can safely be said that the University Centre and Dalhousie have strong ties since other instructors from Dalhousie have previously taught at the University Centre and quite a few of our current students completed their undergraduate degree there.

We also welcome Dr. Roland Wennersten professor at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, who will teach the course Conflict Resolution in Resource Management. He taught the course during the CMM programs first academic year in 2009 and we are happy to have him with us again.

"I recommend the Coastal and Marine Management master's program to foreign students because it´s an accelerated program in an important field, all while learning about a different culture and land."
